The Terrible, Terrible, Terrible TWOS!

Well, Today was the first day that Eli has been back at school since before Christmas! Then he now has four more days off because they are closed for the holidays. Poor little guys is probably so confused!
I decided to go to Walmart with Carter to get some organizing bins. We went by the clearance isle where there were two of those little fur real miniature puppies he saw and just loved them. I told them we couldn't afford them (they weren't on clearance, some one just stuck it there i guess.) but of course as many times before that wasn't good enough. Let me tell you, I have never heard a child scream and squeal so loud in my entire life. I mean people come out of isles just to see what is going on! There is usually someone that comes up that evidentially has grown children and been in my very position. They try to talk to him, which he stops and listens with his curly crazy hair and crocodile tears, but the moment I thank them and we are off it's back again. Needless to say, I didn't get one thing done that was needed and wasted gas money and think my right ear is getting deaf from hearing him the whole way home. At least it wasn't like last time when I had both that were doing the same thing plus kicking, screaming, and biting.(That would be Eli.)
I guess in a sense Eli is also going through his terrible two's because mentally he not quite two and a half.
Anyway, That was my day.
I am just so thankful it's Thursday! It's the evening I keep for myself. If your a Grey's Anatomy and Private Practice fan you know what I mean!
I am that much of a fan that everyone knows that if they call it better be an emergency or when the commercials are on. I really want Meredith to get pregnant! She would be such an amazing mom!
So, I have 45 minutes to get the kids in bed... Gotta Run!

Had to post this....

Having fun with layouts and headers

Okay, so since I am just now "really" getting into this blogging thing I am amazed on how much fun you can have with themes, headers, apps, and so much more! I always wondered how some blogs did it.
I started with a search and found a cute blog called: The Background Fairy: Free stuff for your blog.
I was very impressed with the designs she offers and there aren't any advertisements or distractions on her actual designs. But, if you are a kind person you will grab her button and put it on your blog like I have.
she makes it so easy to add the designs to your blog.
If you like chic, girly, antique, and elegant designs then you will love the Background Fairy!

The Background Fairy

I picked up my header from her. =)

Just thought I would share!

Rain, Rain, You can't come soon enough!

We actually had a tiny thunderstorm about 3 nights ago and it was awesome. I think Missouri is the only place you can go sledding, snow, rain, and keep your summer clothes handy within two days time. Such a weird place. Anyone living in this central area has to like surprises, or has learned to deal with them because you never know what you are going to get. Here when we watch the weather, we bet on if the weatherman will be right. Like as if we are betting on a horse race or the indie 500.

Would this suck or what???

The other day I was watching Wheel of Fortune and someone got a trip to somewhere out of the states. I thought to myself, "What if you work really hard to get yourself to the US only to go on Wheel of Fortune and win a trip back to where you came from?"
Yes, sadly enough... these are some of the crazy thoughts that run through my head. =)

Good Bye 2010!!

Happy New Year! I am so relieved that 2010 is over and and really looking forward to 2011! As the new year comes in I can only think about how great full I am for family and friends. Today I took down the Christmas tree and have been rushing around to make the house all fresh and clean. I am ready to start off on the right foot and yes, I have gotten an early start thanks to my little monkeys. (Carter of whom is now past out now on my shoulder. I guess blogging isn't in his top 10 list. :). )
It's really weird because I have been dreading this year with the fact of me turning 30 but to be honest, I am actually looking forward to getting out of my twenties. They sucked!

I actually thought about New Year's Resolutions and you know what?? I am not making any this year! Nope, not one. Why? Because they suck to. Hahaha, no not really, but I can never seem to keep them so I am having the the attitude of "Do my best, and ignore the rest!". That way there is nothing to feel guilty off!
Anyway, I have so much more cleaning to do before considering this house as ready for the new year as I am! (BTW. Still love our little place. It's not a big house, but it's perfect for what we need!)

boobies!!!

Okay, I have to share this even though it is just horrible it really is funny! I was getting dressed the other day in my room and just pulling over my sports bra when my 2 year old busts into the room. He shakes his head and says BOOBS! I said yes honey, boobs. He then gets a big grin on his face and drastically boasts out "boobies!"
 I almost died laughing.

Thought of moving ahead.

Well today was a good day. I got the kitchen cleaned from head to toe and let the boys run around outside. I also got my grocery shopping done and found out that if I shop what is on sale I can cut my grocery bill in half which is worth it and easier to me then coupon clipping. I only started doing this just now because since we have moved back to Belton I now get both HyVee (my personal favorite) and Price Chopper's weekly ads.
Today was so nice outside and I am sooooo very thankful to be back in a house. The apartments we were living in did the job for the time being but having more room and letting the kids go out and play is priceless. Thank goodness we actually have had some decent weather where it hasn't been to cold or I would be going crazy right now! Our Christmas was wonderful. Nice and quiet, with gifts to keep the children busy and a nice meal I put on the table. Michael is finally out of school for a little bit and it is so very nice to have him home for a while.
Elijah is doing good in School although he is on winter break which has thrown him for a loop. He is actually handling it better then I thought. All in all we are doing well and are looking forward to 2011!

Rainy Day

Today is a rainy day outside. I don't really mind, I actually like it. first day this week that I have been home all day with the kids and it feels kind of nice not to be running around like crazy. Well, out anyway. Instead I have been running around like crazy trying to get this house cleaned up and caught up on laundry. I am unpacking some things for the moment because we thought we would be moving in November, but I think we are going to wait until after the holidays as long as our complex let's us do a month to month. Even though it is only a two bedroom it is a nice apartment and has been such a blessing. It's not that old and has vaulted ceilings that make it look and feel more like a home. The only thing I can't wait for is for the kiddo's to have their own rooms because they can't be alone when they are awake at this point and we can't childproof the place as we could with our own home. So, we are waiting to see if we can buy a home instead of renting so that will put us at about maybe Jan/Feb. time frame.
Yesterday Eli's doctor appointment went extremely well and Dr. Winburn is a godsend. You can tell she cares so much about her children and the parents to. After his appointment we went to Walmart and got some groceries for Eli and came home with zhu zhu pets. I know, I know, I broke down and let them each get one! They are cute and Eli I think is sick of his already but that's okay because Carter is addicted. He is so funny because everything he loves he takes to bed with him. It started with his blankey, then his little puppy scout from Leap Frog that he loves, then his Thomas the Train soft plush,  Then a stuffed animal puppy that we have had forever in the bottom of the toybox, (I guess he felt bad for it and decided to adopt.) His sippy cup as always, and now two zhu-zhu pets. Do the words "horder" come to mind? haha... I actually think it is sooo cute. For now anyway.=) Funny thing is that I don't know how much longer it will be before there isn't any room for him to sleep! He is my little funny guy and really keeps things light and laughter in the house.
Today I was able to work more on our Team AutismUnity for the autismspeaks walk coming Oct. 16th.
If you are interested in signing up to walk with us you can do so at: http://www.walknowforautismspeaks.org/kansascity/autismunity
You can also go to the above link if you just want to donate to the walk! Any and all support is appreciated.

Tonight I am going to try to cut Elijah's hair for this Metals test that we have to send in. He fights it so band and I hate putting him through it because it messes with his sensory so much. I would do it while he was sleeping but have a fear of him waking up and then never wanting to go to sleep again. I know if when I was younger I saw my mom coming at me with a buzzer in the night, I would probably have nightmares the rest of my life. =)

Yesterday was a pretty busy day as always. We went downtown for Elijah's Speech and OT and then went to the Kansas side in Overland Park so Eli could get his Allergy shot. We do this every Monday. Today Eli has a doctors appointment just so we can re adjust his meds and get new orders for medical/Gtube supplies.
Last Thursday we were given his full allergy results. He is so severely allergic to so many things that they are putting him on a very limited special diet. He cannot have the gtube formula that we used to use, So I have to make him Meals out of a 4 day program they gave and then blend them to liquify them.
This is going to take a lot of willpower and time on my part, but will be worth it if it helps him. I am thinking about making a ton of meals before hand and then freezing them so all I will need to do is put it in my vitamix blender to liquify it. Thanks goodness for my Vita Mix! Really it has been a blessing and anyone who is thinking about getting one and has a medical need for it, You can call them and get a nice discount with proof from a doctor.
After Eli's doctor appointment we are going shopping for the food he can have. For what he will actually "eat", there isn't anything that is going to be able to stay familiar in his diet except for water I think. But, I am going to try to play off of the fact that he prefers dry and crunchy things and go from there. I am so thankful I have the perfect OT to help me because she can get him to try new things where as I don't stand a chance!

Carter's First two teeth

Carter has his first two teeth coming in! You can barely see them in photos still so I will be updating when you can see them better!
Last night he also handed me a ball and did a great job in trying to roll it back and forth to me! Plus, I was so proud of him when he tried to say.... "Ball"!!! My little baby is growing up!

Here is a picture of him with his cousin on my side of the family. We took it right before we moved when my mom and sister came to see us! You can really see the resemblance I think anyway. Some people say he looks like Michael, Some say he looks like me, I think that he is a beautiful combination of the both of us just like his brother Eli.

Here is a photo of him with Grandma Maas my mommy. He had such a good time meeting everyone! I wish I had a picture of Aunt Karen my sister, But the one I took turned out to blurry... boo hoo.

Last week he had his first taste of a cookie when his brother threw his down because he didn't want it anymore. We were wondering why he was being so quiet! I just had to get a picture before getting it from him.... He knew he was caught !

Here is a photo I took of him this morning... We tried shoes on and he didn't know what to think! He didn't like them to much which is how I was when I was little. So we go bare foot unless necessary!

Long Rough Road... yet still here

Wow, I can't believe it has been over a year since I last blogged! So much has happened! To get you all caught up, I found out the end of July that I was pregnant with our second child! Beginning of March we lost our house and moved to a very tiny duplex which I had to go finding very pregnant and dragging poor Eli around because hubby had to work. about 2 weeks after moving in I went into labor and Michael my hubby took me to the emergency room at 2:30 in the morning after getting home from a long work shift. I was actually in labor since about 5pm with contractions but thought it might just go away. The next day after getting to the hospital and being there in labor for 12 hours we warmly greeted our second son Carter into our little family on March 19th, 2008.
In June of 2008, Elijah was diagnosed with moderate to severe autism and I went through a very hard time and depression with trying to handle it. Where we lived our little place was getting so cramped and our gas was shut off because we were still so behind with bills still from the other house. If we didn't move out when we did we wouldn't have had heat either because, Yep you guessed it..... Gas heater.
I actually want to say that the gas was shut off while I was still pregnant but I can't remember because it is all such a blur now. Of course that was also probably do to not sleeping with little Carter being up all night along with Elijah not sleeping well due to sensory problems.
It seemed to be one thing after another but then we got an opportunity to move to Oklahoma in August, I think at the end of the month.. and we have been here ever since. We live on a family owned farm that was actually Michael's Grandparents farm. It just so happened that it was being rented and the renters were moving out so we were offered to move in. It was sooooo sudden and very hard to do being a new mom, having an autistic child, and moving to a very unfamiliar territory away from the city, Far from anything I knew! And it was very hard packing because with Michael gone I had to do most all of it myself.
But I will tell you that I do remember my first Hot shower without having to boil water or just freeze. It was the night before we left.. we stayed at a hotel room and that shower was the first sign to me that things will finally be different. Sometimes you can forget how nice the simple things in everyday life are. Michael's Dad and Margo were so supportive and help get us out here. If it weren't for them we would probably be so far down who knows what would have happened. Now, we have a chance at life. Michael has a good job, we can afford to live and not worry about the basic things, For once it's nice to not worry about how we will buy diapers or formula the next month .

This is my little guy Carter. I can't believe how much he has changed. In 8 crazy months he is now crawling, standing up, hands me stuff, and just recently trying to talk and imitate me.

Elijah's 3rd Birthday was Dec. 6th and he had such a great day! He is just an angel.

All in all we are happy and I think you can understand why I haven't been on here lately. I will try to stay more up to date. I am still fighting for Elijah with school systems now and trying to get him the right services he needs. Yeah we still don't sleep well, Carter does for the most part but not Elijah so that means not me either. It's really hare to work with Eli now that he is getting older and I am usually pretty tired all the time but we have family that love us, A husband that is good to me and not to mention an amazing Father...and hard worker, Two beautiful boys, And a roof over our heads.... All the rest are just pieces to a puzzle. who could ask for more.

A little honesty here....

Okay, Here is my first blog ever!! Yeah, that's what I said! I can't believe it either because I am usually one of the first people up to date with what's going on in the world today! Well, At least when it comes to technology, trends, or fashion...lol. Anyway, I am starting this blog because my older sister had one and I thought it was the perfect way for family and friends to know what was going on in our lives since our family is spread out all over the world! Eli our 1 year old son is changing so fast that I figured I need a blog to be able to keep everyone up to date!

Actually, My little man is calling me right now..... I don't think 10 min. consists of a nap do you?
